Society is in a place where mental health funding is becoming desperately necessary (more than ever). It’s been a surreal and sobering journey speaking openly about my own diagnosing journey over the last four years, and I’ve gone in several directions throughout the ups, downs and everything in between.
I started on Canada’s west while living in the wonderful city of Calgary, ending up in Kincardine, Ontario – a couple hours away from Toronto, living right by lake Huron.
In this time, I’ve thrown my all into speaking out, being an advocate for mental health awareness and learning to thrive through the harshest circumstances and moments.
I say all this because lately, my conscience has realized that I’m hammering away on misdiagnosis of ADHD quite heavily while not supporting folks with ADHD as much as I could (and should) be. I admit it. In fact, I did a live video stream on it just a bit earlier today here: https://www.pscp.tv/w/1dRKZAQMnbwxB (take a look).
I want everyone reading this to know that I support ADHD awareness one thousand percent! I certainly don’t want people to take my speaking out on proper, thorough and inter-disciplinary assessments for ADHD as not supporting those who actually have it (and the symptoms that are increasingly common for many of us, even without actual ADHD!).
